OSSGA Launches First Billboard Campaign
The Ontario, Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (OSSGA) is pleased to announce the launch of its first-ever billboard campaign.

Beginning this week, the 20x10-ft. billboard ad will appear in a number of cities across the province for approximately four weeks. The specifications, start dates and locations are as follows:

November 19:

• 1. Toronto: 60 Norelco Drive (10x25 backlit), 130 ft. south of Ormont Dr., west side, facing southeast (visibile from Hwy. 400)
• 2. Kingston: Sir John A. MacDonald Blvd., 810 ft. north of Terry Fox Dr., east side, facing north
• 3. Ottawa: 2783 Walkley Rd., 580 ft. east of Lancaster Rd., north side, facing west
• 4. Hamilton: Parkdale Ave. north and Burlington St. East, southeast corner, facing north
• 5. Milton: Ontario St., 325 ft. north of Main St., east side, facing south
• 6. Brampton: 3420 Hwy. 7, 655 ft. west of Goreway Dr., north side, facing west

December 17:

• 7. Barrie: 692 Essa Rd., 450 ft. north of Mapleview Dr. West, east side, facing southwest
• 8. Kitchener: Manitou Dr., north of Webster Rd., east side, facing south
• 9. Sudbury: 140 Brady St., 80 ft. north of Douglas St., west side, facing northeast
• 10. Burlington: 1160 Burloak Dr., 75 ft. north of North Service Rd., west side, facing north
• 11. Vaughan: Rutherford Rd., 705 ft. east of Melville Ave., north side, facing west

The design concept features a "before" Polaroid of a loader at the quarry face inset against an "after" shot of Walker Industries Holdings Ltd.'s award-winning rehabilitated Vineland Quarries in Niagara, ON. The OSSGA hopes to continue with the initiative over 2008 with a series of new billboard designs featuring other sites.

The OSSGA's broad-based public education campaign is an ongoing initiative aimed at raising awareness about the aggregate industry. Last year, the OSSGA developed and ran print ads linked to the provincial government's announcement regarding infrastructure.

The featured Uniform Resource Locator (URL) in the ad "BuildingOntario.com" has been linked to the OSSGA web site (www.ontariossga.com) to track the number of new visitors.
