OSSGA committees are a primary vehicle for member involvement. Committees bring together leaders from all levels and areas of our membershp - Active and Associate - with the common goal to help the OSSGA advance member issues, services and programs and move the industry forward. Associate Members Committee
Promotes networking opportunities between Active and Associate members.

Board Task Force on Water
Ensures the OSSGA Board and members are apprised of current and emerging legislation, regulation and policy on water-related issues and initiatives at all levels of government.

OSSGA Staff Liaison: Environment & Resources Manager

Community Relations & Rehabilitation Committee
Keeps updated on leading edge rehabilitation practices and projects, as well as community relations initiatives. Organizes the annual rehabilitation tour and seminar, and community relations seminar. Oversees the OSSGA's Industry Advancement Awards Program and Student Design Competition.

Education Committee
Ensures stronger public perception of our industry by educating the general public.

Environment Committee
Works proactively with the Ministry of Environment on issues of mutual concern and keeps the memberhsip informed of current and emerging environmental issues. Reviews and awards the Environmental Innovation Award.

Health & Safety Committee
Liaises with the Ministry of Labour, the Workers Safety & Insurance Board, and Workplace Safety North, to collaborate on issues of mutual concern and promote safe working practices in the aggregate industry.

Inert Fill Task Force

Land Use Planning Committee
Monitors provincial/municipal planning policies and process. Advises OSSGA on positions and referrals to the OMB on matters under the Planning Act. Reviews and comments on land use planning initiatives at the provincial and local levels.

Product Marketing Committee
Reviews and reports on all aspects of aggregate marketing and sales promotion as well as organizing an annual marketing seminar.

Specifications Committee
Monitors and responds to changes in specifications of aggregate products, in laboratory testing procedures and regulations and keeps the OSSGA membership informed of specification-related issues, changes, and new regulations that may affect members.

Sustainability Committee
Established to develop a strategy to engage the environmental community in meaningful discussions about how to effectively reduce increasing conflict between the two sectors.
